I've used Selftrade for several years but I'm now closing my accounts and those of my wife and taking our investments elsewhere. Why? Because I can't work with a company which shows no interest in its customers and accepts no responsibility for its mistakes.

So what happened? Just over 3 months ago I requested the transfer of some shares to my wife's account to sell them. Customer Services acknowledged the request but Selftrade failed to action it. By the time they had been reminded, investigated and finally done it several days later, the shares had tanked and I had lost about £6K compared to what I could have got if they had acted in the usual couple of days. I raised a complaint which has been acknowledged but Selftrade consistently failed to follow its own complaints procedure and have never told me the conclusion of their "investigations". The final straw was when I wrote to the CEO and did not even get an acknowledgement.

I judge a company by how well it responds when things go wrong. Selftrade just scored a big fat ZERO!

In summary, I would not recommend Self Trade to a friend.

Have used them for several years.

Do not like the restriction preventing limit bid dealing within 4 working days of announcements or when dividends are paid.

In summary, I would recommend Self Trade to a friend.
