I made the mistake of choosing the Halifax platform on which to consolidate numerous SIPPs, ISAs and shares. When Halifax opened the accounts (May 2015), there was a software clash of some sort between the share and Sipp accounts, which Halifax have been unable to resolve. I have been unable to operate the share account for a month now, and although Halifax have acknowledged the problem, incredibly, they don't seem able to fix it. This explains my score above: I have no trading opportunities, no features, and have incurred the financial cost of transferring to Halifax, only so that I could be locked out of my own account. So before opening a Halifax account, ask yourself the following questions: Do you want to risk being locked out of your own account due to bugged software? Do you want to entrust your money to a company who have no interest in fixing problems once they have your money?
In summary, I would not recommend Halifax Share Dealer to a friend.
